“It’s a beautiful thing to have lungs that allow you to breathe air and legs that allow you to climb mountains, and its a shame that we sometimes don’t realize that that’s enough.”
As humans, we sometimes forget to be grateful. Grateful for the small things, such as breathing, seeing, hearing, walking, talking, being able to give a smile and a big hug. For the things that we have, and actually, the things that we don’t have. Just because we want something, doesn’t mean it’s good for us.
We forget about appreciating the people around us, our family and our friends. We take them for granted and do not appreciate the things they do for us, we may even push them away. Quote by Mufti Ismail Menk: “Never let others feel worthless. Don’t push people aside or ignore them thinking you’re more superior. Always remind them of their worth.” Beautiful! Just beautiful. May we be one of those who implement this in our lives! Because, really, we don’t know who’ve had a rough day, and maybe the smile or the hug we gave them, made their day. And this does not only apply to the close ones but also to the strangers on the street.
As Muslims we believe that God gives a reward for the being grateful:
“And Allah will certainly reward the grateful”
(Qur’an chapter 3, verse 145)
In those stressful days, it’s easy to complain about everything and be ungrateful. Let’s try to have a positive attitude and appreciate all the blessings in our lives.
CHALLENGE: I really want to start a gratitude journal. Who’s with me? Comment down below. And if you’re not sure about how that works, let me know, and maybe I can make a blog post about it. In Shaa Allah.
I hope you enjoyed and thank you for reading, beautiful!
