Have you seen how a mother loves and cares for her children? How she’s always afraid something bad will happen to them? She does anything and everything to protect them? Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala loves us 70 times more than a mother loves her children. SubahanAllah. Think about that. Think about that love He subhanahu wa ta’ala has for us. It’s mindblowing.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the trap of routine. We forget the reason why we’re here. Why we actually do the things we do. Lets, for example, take prayer. Prayer is one of the most important worship we as Muslims have to do. Five times a day. At first, we may think about the love of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala and do it out of joy. Then suddenly it becomes a routine, something that we HAVE to do. Something that we just want to do to get out of the way and over with.
Nowadays we’re so occupied with everything that we have to do; work, school, kids, marriage, friends, social settings, social media and we forget to sit down once in a while and actually reflect. Reflect upon our lives, upon the love of Allah, about our intentions, are they straight? Why do we do the things that we do?
When we get to know Allah subhanahu wa Ta’ala, when we know about the love Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala gives us and constantly remind ourselves about it, we would rush to salah, we would look forward to praying to Him, its so much easier to wake up for Fajr prayer or wait until Isha, because we love Him suhanahu wa Ta’ala.
Get to know His subhanahu wa ta’alas 99 names and attributions, take notes. What is the meaning for them? This may help us have a better concentration (khusoo’) in salah and bring back the love that we have for Him subhanahu wa ta’ala.
HERE’S a playlist on YouTube of the names of Allah.
This is first and foremost a big reminder for myself.
