VISION BOARD

Vision board – a board with a visual inspiration of images and words that represents either your goals or dreams. I love to have one over my desk, with some inspirational quotes, Quran verses, modest clothes, places I want to visit, pictures of the interior, cute cards from friends/family and list of goals that I want to accomplish. I do change it up every now and then when I’ve gathered pictures/material that I want over a period of time. I have obviously not included pictures of my goal list or cards from family/friends in here just for the privacy reason.

I do have a printer at home so I save the pictures to my computer, when I’m happy with what I have I just print them out and hang them on the grid that I have over my desk. I love how it looks and it gives me so much inspiration whenever I look at it. Pinterest is my best friend when it comes to this, but you can also do it the old fashion way and cut from magazines etc, that’s a lot of fun too, but it may take a bit longer to do. You don’t have to have it hanging on your wall, you may have a Pinterest vision board, in your notebook or use a large piece of paper to make a collage out of the pictures that you’ve gathered.

4 STEPS TO MAKE ONE YOURSELF:
1. GOALS

What goals do you have and want to set for 2018? Spiritually, career, family, personal development, health etc. Spend some time to really think what your goals really are, what you want to achieve and how.

2. INSPIRATION

Is there anything that inspires you? Quotes, Hadiths, Qur’an verses, clothes, places, interior, photography, food etc. Is there anything that reminds you of being a better person? Or maybe there are places you really want to visit someday? Maybe some interior inspiration to change up something at home?

3. FIND IMAGES

Search online for pictures you want and can use, or look through a bundle of magazines of your choice.

4. MAKE A COLLAGE

Print the pictures out and cut the images. Hang them on your grid, glue them on your paper, notebook or whatever you prefer.

Do you have a vision board too?

I hope you liked this.

Love,

Hanae.

3 WAYS TO STYLE A COFFEE TABLE

Coffee table styling never gets boring and it’s fun to change it from time to time. There are tons of ways to decorate a coffee table and these are just 3 simple ways that I prefer.

1. SIMPLE CENTERPIECE

This gives that simple, clean and minimal look which I love. A square marble tray with simple fragrance sticks in the middle.

2. STACKED BOOKS

Stack coffee table books for some hight, a scented candle, and candleholder. Books are great for creating some hight, also for when you’re bored and want to read or go through some pictures for inspiration or for your guests maybe.

3. ROUND TRAY

A round marble tray on a rectangular coffee table never gets wrong, simple, organized and functional at the same time.

I hope you liked this and I would love to read which one is your favorite. Have a good Sunday evening.

Love,

Hanae.

5 TED TALKS FAVORITES

Lately, I’ve been listening to TED talks and they’re so motivational and educational at the same time. I love it. I like that they’re short because let’s face it, we don’t always have the time or patience to listen to long talks, so these are perfect.

I’ve gathered my 5 favorites in a random order that I want to share with you guys.

1. CELESTE HEADLEE – 10 WAYS TO HAVE A BETTER CONVERSATION

This is such an amazing talk. I love how she easily and short tells us how to have a decent conversation with people, and there’s a lot to learn from it. I found myself thinking about how I talk and engage with other people. And a lot of the points that she made, our Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alayhi Wa Salaam thought us: Be present, give full attention to whoever speaks to you, and listen. Such a motivational speech.

2. SCOTT GELLER – THE PSYCHOLOGY OF SELF-MOTIVATION

This one really makes you think what self-motivation actually is. How much we need each other and learn from each other. Take a look and listen.

3. SUZANNE BARAKAT – ISLAMOPHOBIA KILLED MY BROTHER. LET’S END THE HATE.

This is the sister and sister-in-law of the three young Muslims who lost their lives to a hate crime by their neighbor. Such a powerful speech and oh wow so many feelings at the same time… This is both sad and an eye-opener.

4. CARRIE GREEN – PROGRAMMING YOUR MIND FOR SUCCESS

This speech is making you understand how your decision in your mind affects you, both negatively and positively. God gave us a brain to have control over, so how do we use it?

5. AMAL KASSIR – THE MUSLIM ON THE AIRPLANE

Wow, such an amazing speech! I found my self in tears while listening to her. This is worth listening to.

I hope you liked this post and I would love to read some of your thoughts or other recommendations that you may have.

Enjoy!

Love,

Hanae

PIXI GLOW TONIC REVIEW

Everybody in the beauty world has been talking about this PIXI GLOW TONIC for the longest time. So I thought I would give it a try. I used this toner for the first time for about 6 months ago. I used the whole bottle and I loved it so much.
I had in my mind that I had to repurchase it again, but I forgot about it, went on vacation, and back again and my skin went crazy. After a while, I repurchased it to see if it would help me to at least get me back to where I was with only a phew spots.

I’ve now used it for 3-4 weeks since I repurchased it this time, and my skin is getting better, and I believe that this toner has helped me a lot. I noticed a difference.

What’s good about it?

It exfoliates your skin and removes all the dead skin cells. Helps tighten, firm and tone. The aloe vera helps soothe the skin. Ginseng improves circulations and energizes. For all skin types.

How to apply?

Cleanse your skin. Soak a cotton pad with the toner and wipe it all over your face and neck. Avoid the eye area. You can apply this either in the mornings or at night time. Moisturize your skin in the end.

You never know these days, everything is so hyped up in the beauty industry and when you try it, it’s disappointing. Try it out yourself and make your own mind about it. I personally really think that this is worth the hype. This toner is now a staple in my skincare routine until I find something better.

Remember that we all react to products differently. What works for me, may not work for you. Also, I’m not a skincare expert, I’m just sharing my experience and my thoughts about this product.

Have a blessed Wednesday evening.

Love,

Hanae.

30 DAY MINIMALISM CHALLENGE

The days go by and we often tend to do things automatically without thinking much of it.

I found this 30 days minimalism challenge and would love to try it out. So I wanted to share it with you too!

This is how it works:

Save the picture to your phone or print it out and hang it where you can see it. Do one task at a time and it doesn’t have to be in order. Every time you’re done with doing one task, tick it from the list.

I know that some of them may be difficult, at least for me, but let’s try! Let’s see if we can keep up with this and how it makes us feel after doing them.

Have a beautiful Sunday.

Love,

Hanae.
