SUNDAY FACIAL AT HOME

Hello beautiful people! 

Do you know when you can actually feel your skin needs a big-time facial? It needs all the love it can get. Well, a facial at home is perfect, especially on a Sunday! Here’s a step by step for a perfect Sunday at-home facial;

Take a long and well-deserved bath/shower;

1. CLEANSE

Use your favorite cleanser to wash your face and get some of the dirt removed from the surface.

2. EXFOLIATE

Apply a gentle face scrub to your skin and massage into your skin.

3. STEAM

Use a towel soaked in hot water to steam your face by placing the towel on your face. Or you can use a big bowl with warm water, use a towel over your head and put your head right above the bowl to steam your face.

4. FACEMASK & TONER

Apply your favorite facemask depending on what your skin needs. Use a toner after the facemask.

5. MOISTURIZE

Now its time for a good moisturizer and eye cream.

SELF-CARE WEEK

Hello beautiful people! ♥

So, last week I had a full self-care week, I decided to make time every evening no matter what, to do something that I enjoy and that makes me feel good. And I have to say it was pretty enjoyable! Especially as a mother and in a fulltime job, it’s so important to make time for whatever you like and enjoy.

I will share what I did, perhaps it will inspire you to do the same;

  • Monday; I bought myself flowers although that’s a Friday thing for me, just because. Such a small act, but it felt so good. Fresh flowers at home are so underrated.
  • Tuesday; I took a long and much-needed bath, with my favorites from Rituals and with my favorite Origins facemask. Let me say: It. felt. good.
  • Wednesday; I made time to read the lovely book of Nouma Ali Khan and take some notes from it. It makes you reflect and learn something new. This is something I really love to do but don’t always have time to do, unfortunately.
  • Thursday; I did a 10 minutes yoga session at home. It was short but much needed for my body. Felt good afterward.
  • Friday; Had a fun girls-night at my in-laws, with a lot of laughing. Always a great thing for your wellbeing.
  • Saturday; Took a walk in the city and had a look in the stores. Got me some bits and bobs. I also had some quality time with my son which is always lovely.
  • Sunday; Prepared for a new week.

Try to make time for yourself for a whole week and see how you feel.

HACK – MAKE YOUR HOME SMELL AMAZING

Today, we woke up to snow in Norway. I have to be honest and say I’m totally not ready yet, but hey, we have to do the best out of it, right?❄️

I really wanted to find a naturally scented recipe to make my home smell amazing in the evening, especially in these darker times when being home with cozy loungewear is a must.

Simple ingredients:

  • 1 Apple
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 1 Orange/Clementine
  • Nutmeg

Stir and mix all the ingredients together in a pot, uncovered and set the oven on low. Add more water as needed to make sure the ingredients don’t burn. Et voila, your house will smell amazing ✨
